Our Motherless Paternity Testing provides accurate and reliable results even when the mother cannot participate in the test. This option is commonly used in cases where the mother is unavailable, unwilling, or not required. Testing includes one child and one alleged father, with results available in 1–2 business days from receipt of all samples.

Chain-of-Custody Testing (For Legal Purposes)

Chain-of-custody testing ensures results are legally defensible in court. Requirements include:

• Sample collection by a neutral third party

• Verified identity with government-issued ID, photo, and/or fingerprint

• Standard DNA Diagnostics Center kit used

• Completion and signing of Client Identification & Consent Form (COC-4002-CA)

• Guardianship of minor verified at time of signing

• Clients may not possess the kit before or after collection

Non-Chain-of-Custody Testing (For Personal Knowledge)

For those seeking results only for personal reassurance, non-legal testing is available:

• Self-collected buccal (cheek swab) samples at home

• Names on the report appear exactly as labeled on samples

• Results not valid for legal purposes

• Each kit assigned a unique barcode as case reference

Important Notes

• If the mother cannot be tested but accompanies the child, her consent is required for minors.

• A trio paternity test (child, father, and mother) is always preferred and may be required in cases involving related alleged fathers.

• In some situations, the lab may request the mother’s sample to ensure accuracy.
