The DNA Profiling Service provides individuals with a record of their unique genetic profile. Each person’s DNA profile is a permanent genetic “fingerprint,” defined by allele sizes at specific DNA loci. Clients receive a DNA typing report that can serve as an official record for future comparison and verification.

Chain-of-Custody Testing (For Legal Purposes)

For results admissible in legal cases such as inheritance disputes:

• Positive identification required (government-issued ID, photo, and/or fingerprinting)

• Standard DDC kit used

• Each participant completes and signs Client Identification & Consent Form (COC-4002)

• Guardianship of tested minors verified at time of signing

• Clients may not handle kits before or after collection

Non-Chain-of-Custody Testing (For Personal Knowledge)

For individuals seeking a DNA profile for personal recordkeeping only:

• Samples collected by the individuals themselves

• Standard DDC kit used

• COC-4002 Consent Form completed and signed

• Results not valid for legal purposes

• Unique barcode assigned to each kit for tracking and account reference
